We are fascinated by Creation's natural templates, its altruistic synergies and combinatory efficacies. Working in three codependent areas of Human Health, Animal Health and Soil Health, we are actively engaged in science-backed problem-solving toward some of the world's greatest challenges in hunger, health and climate with active research in collaboration with Clemson University, the USDA Organic Agriculture Research and Extension Initiative, and the USDA AMS Specialty Crop Block Grant Program as facilitated through the South Carolina Department of Agriculture.
Funding for some of our research was made possible by a grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Services. The contents of this publication are solely the responsibility of the authors and do not necessarily represent the official views of the USDA.
Thanks to tools developed by Dr. Lisa Johnson, Growers for Grace helps specialty crop growers learn to measure post-harvest abundances and understand options in both commercial and charitable extensions of their crops. By supporting growers through post-havest measurement, we can help identify opportunities for growers to utilize more of the nutritious food cultivated, strengthening and sustaining our growers’ bottom line while improving resilience and health for everyone.
Using what we call the Grace Template, we are breaking barriers in linear supply chains to help turn post-harvest abundances into sustainable products with circular design. Today, many products and systems are designed to be discarded. However, the world is now recognizing it's not just the materials that are wasted in this linear-driven model but also its embedded energy and resources. As conscious consumerism drives a response, we're helping answer this call through sustainable, circular, agricultural design, thus preventing unnecessary losses right at the start.
“You drench the plowed ground with rain, melting the clods and leveling the ridges. You soften the earth with showers and bless its abundant crops.
You crown the year with a bountiful harvest; even the hard pathways overflow with abundance.” | Psalm 65:10-11
